Sabina began gymnastics at the local club in her hometown of Sibiu at age four. During her training there she was coached by former gymnast Raluca Burgner. She showed supreme talent as a junior and made a name for herself upon winning the 2000 Junior Europeans. Sabina went on to compete well as a senior, winning the 2001 Goodwill Games and participating in two World Championships, before she left Deva in 2003 with health problems. She continued to train at her home club in Sibiu and attempted a comeback in early 2004, although it only lasted a brief time period. Although Sabina never experienced the level of individual success that was predicted of her, she represented Romania on the international scene for three years and will be remembered for her tremendous talent and spunky nature.
