Romania's Master
Octavian Belu took over as Head Coach of Romania's Team upon the re-opening of the national training center in 1990. He is one of the best coaches in the world, and like his gymnasts, he is seperated from his family most of the year.

- Trained in gymnastics, but was not a good athlete, so studied the training aspects of the sport
- Graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Institute in Bucharest in 1974
- Has coached Romania to 4 Consecutive World Team Titles
- Taught physical education
- Coached gymnastics in Ploesti before coming to Deva
