Andreea became the second-ever Romanian woman to win the Olympic All Around Crown in an Olympic Games, only to have it taken away from her. However Andreea is not finished with gymnastics, and she has vowed to make it to Athens.

- Because she was given a cold pill containing Pseudoephedrine by the team doctor at the 2000 Olympics, her All Around title was stripped. Teammate, Simona Amanar was upgraded to gold in this event, however back in Romania, and broadcasted on national TV, Simona presented Andreea with her medal. Andreea also received a replica of the medal made by a Romanian jewler in Bucharest inscribed with "Andreea is the everlasting Champion in our hearts". She also received much prize money and a new car for her team gold and vault silver.
