Ramona was yet another young star who competed nationally and internationally for a short time, and then seemed to disappear. She represented Romania at the 97 Jr. ITC and also competed in junior nationals that year, placing third on vault and bars. She was one of a group of girls her age who were said to be the future stars of her country, and in the vast majority of them who never made it. In 1998 Ramona injured her ankle, and had to have a surgery to correct it. She was never able to recover from the surgery, and left the national team sometime between 1998-99, at only fourteen years old.
